This picture is the reason I don’t text and drive.  I just signed the 101.5 The View’s “TXTNG KILLS” Pledge.  Will you join me?

I admit that I have done it before at stop signs and stop lights, then I realized that my three little kids are watching me.  Right now, they are 9, 7 and 3, but kids are smart, and I know they are watching.  How can I tell them not to text and drive if they see me do it?

I watched a VERY disturbing video about texting and driving a while back that showed how multiple lives can change in an INSTANT.  Just typing “yes,” or “call u in a bit,” can kill you, or someone else.   That split second that you look down can shape your life.

Now, when I get in the car, I put my phone in my purse.  This may age me, but I didn’t have a cell phone until I was about 25, and I managed just fine.  I think I can manage the minutes/hours I am in my car.

If you don’t do it for your own life, do it for the lives of others…for example, the car full of kids that a Mom just can’t live without.
